This is a great use of your leftover meatballs. If you want to make your meatballs from scratch, head over to our meatball recipe page. In a jam feel free to pick up some pre made meatballs from a quality butcher. Pan fry or bake in a little olive oil in advance.
Ingredients

2-4 Meatballs (depending on size)

1 Loaf of Italian hero bread

¼ of Mozz
-
½ Jar of Monte’s Tomato Sauce

Fresh Basil
Directions
Cook meatballs if you have not already.
You can slice them in half or into disks for ideal layering.
Slice your mozzarella.
Spook some sauce on both sides of the hero.
Layer your sliced meatballs on the bottom half, be mindful of keeping the sandwich structurally sound.
Add mozzarella on top of meatballs and spoon a little more sauce on top, be careful of not making your sandwich too dry or too wet.
Bake the sandwich open face until all the cheese is melted, remove from oven, add a layer of fresh basil, close, cut and serve with extra sauce to dunk on the side.
